The New Year is almost here, and some of Chicago’s top new construction developments of 2017 are ready to usher in 2018 in a big way. Here's a quick look at just a few of our favorite new developments that officially kicked off sometime over the past year:

Vista Tower

Rising higher and higher above the Chicago River’s south bank, Vista Tower promises dramatic views and a towering design sure to reshape the future of Lakeshore East. This dynamic 90+ story high-rise is under construction right now, but will some day be one of the tallest buildings in the entire city.

Residential options at Vista Tower range from one- to four-bedroom condos, along with full-floor penthouse units, offering up sweeping, 360-degree views of the city. An amenity floor will also deliver a theater, private dining, a fitness room and an outdoor pool deck. Meanwhile, residents are also sure to delight in a location close to everything from the Magnificent Mile to the lakefront and beyond.

465 North Park

Expected to be delivered in 2018, 465 North Park is also under construction, with plans for amenities ranging from a swimming pool and lounge to a sky deck, private dining, a fitness center and a demonstration kitchen. The building will also offer up a dog run and pet spa plus space for on-site retail, meaning extra convenience for residents.

Crews performed a topping out of the building earlier this month, where hundreds of luxury apartments will soon grace the 48-story tower. A short walk from the river and with lake views, the building sits in the Streeterville neighborhood, close to area parks, entertainment options and much, much more.

Van Buren

Crews have also been hard at work since this past summer, constructing the new 12-story Van Buren building. This new apartment building makes room for nearly 150 private residences, as well as some parking and ground level retail space.

Found just across from the National Hellenic Museum, the glass and metal Van Buren building will supply a green roof and a rooftop swimming pool and deck, serving up sensational views of the downtown skyline.
