Downtown Chicago's Apartment Market Still Booming Heading Into Summer

Downtown Chicago’s apartment market has been booming over the last few years as thousands of new units have consistently been delivered in some of the city’s hottest neighborhoods. In River North, projects like Wolf Point West, Aurélien, and Gallery on Wells were all just recently completed, much like HUBBARD221—a sleek 23-story tower that offers a central location, upscale finishes, and a range of floor plans that include studio,  one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom layouts.

At HUBBARD221, developers also put an emphasis on building features outside each individual unit, which includes a full-floor amenity level up on the 21st floor that includes an outdoor swimming pool, a hot tub, a sprawling sundeck with cabanas, and even a few outdoor TVs as well.

Inside is where residents can access the building’s fitness center with Peloton bikes, a co-working hub, and even a quiet meditation lounge and yoga studio.

With so many new apartments being delivered, developers are always looking for an edge that sets their project apart, and it appears HUBBARD221 is one of those buildings that definitely has all the bells and whistles. And according to a recent report from GlobeSt.com, HUBBARD221 is already 65 percent leased just 5 months after completion.

Although it’s just one building, it certainly seems that Chicago’s apartment boom, for now, is still very much alive heading into the summer season, even as 2,500 more units are expected to be completed by the end of 2018.
