Many of us have known for awhile now that Wrigleyville is changing. The mega Addison Park on Clark development is finally getting underway after first being proposed all the way back before the worst of the recession, and a band new hotel is already under construction where the old McDonald’s used to sit near the famous intersection of Clark and Addison.

But while the new-and-improved Wrigleyville projects have grabbed countless headlines in recent months, not much has been detailed about the new Cubs’ new hotel project—until now.

Earlier this week, reports finally surfaced about what we can expect from the new Hickory Street Capital project, which is also owned and controlled by the Ricketts family. Dubbed Hotel Zachery in honor of Zachary Taylor Davis, the original architect of Wrigley Field, the long-discussed hotel project will feature much more than just 175 guest rooms. In addition, this fabulous mixed-used development will also include several restaurants, retail space, and yes—even a replacement McDonald’s for all you fast food lovers who have missed having a Mickey D’s nearby on game days this season.

With construction having just got underway this summer, Hotel Zachery isn’t expected to make its debut until early 2018. But from the renderings that were just released, it looks to be about as impressive as anyone could ask for.
