Continuing on with our 2015 Chicago Holiday Guide, today we’ll be featuring some of the hottest shows going on right now to get you in that festival holiday spirit. Along with all the world-class shopping and dining downtown Chicago has to offer, theatre in the Windy City is also among the best in the world, so whether you live here or are just visiting during the holidays, here’s a few live shows well worth checking out:

A Christmas Carol - Goodman Theatre, 170 N. Dearborn

Showing November 14th to December 27th

Now in its 38th year at the Goodman, the classic Charles Dickens’ Christmas story never gets old, so its no surprise this one tops the lost.

The Nutcracker - The House Theatre, 1543 W. Division

Showing November 5th to December 31st

If you’ve never made a trip over to The House Theatre in Wicker Park, it’s truly one of Chicago’s best kept secrets. Based on the story by E.T.A. Hoffmann, The Nutcracker is a fun show for onlookers of all ages, and it’s cheap! We highly recommend checking this one out if you haven’t already.

A Charlie Brown Christmas - Broadway Playhouse, 175 E. Chestnut

Showing November 20th to December 27th

Of coursed based on the one-and-only cartoon, A Charlie Brown Christmas brings the beloved Peanuts characters to life, making it one of the more fun shows to catch in town during the holidays. Tickets start at only $15, so there’s no excuse to miss this one!

It’s a Wonderful Life: Live in Chicago - Greenhouse Theater Center, 2257 N. Lincoln

Showing November 20th to December 27th

Is there really a more beloved holiday movie than It’s a Wonderful Life? Well, if you live in Chicago, now you can see it live during an incredible production over at the Greenhouse Theater Center. And after the show, you can even join the cast for milk and cookies…seriously!
