2015 marks the 15th year for Movies in the Parks, and this year’s series is finally kicking off on Thursday June 4th. As part of Mayor Emanuel’s Night Out in the Parks initiative, which features over 1,000 events across Chicago’s 200+ parks, Movies in the Parks is an awesome way to get outside to enjoy the warm weather while also taking advantage of the all incredible outdoor spaces the city of Chicago has to offer.
In case you missed it, the Chicago Park District just released the 2015 movie line-up, and from the early looks of it, 2015 looks to be the best year yet. Some of the films being shown around the downtown area include The Pink Panther on June 22nd and Batman Returns on August 31st in Grant Park (The Loop); Insurgent in Lake Shore Park (Streeterville) on August 23rd; Paddington on June 15th and The Boxtrolls on July 20th at the Jesse White Park (River North); Unbroken on July 16th, Into the Woods on June 23rd, Groundhog Day on July 14th, The Fugitive on July 28th, A League of Their Own on August 11th, and Frozen Sing-A-Long on August 25th at Montgomery Ward Park (River North); and The Legend of Ron Burgundy on July 27th at Heritage Green Park (West Loop).
