The cold weather season is upon us in Chicago, which means most local restaurants and bars have closed down their patios and outdoor dining areas for the season. But if you’re like most Chicagoans and love a good outdoor setting, there are still a number of all-season patios around town that make for a great place to grab a bite to eat or a have a drink or two, even when it’s cold outside. Recently, Eater Chicago featured a great list of year-round patios in Chicago, but here are just a few of our favorites:
Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba is one of our favorite lunch or dinner spots to frequent anytime of year, but it’s top of the list during the winter thanks to its awesome year-round patio. And if you’re planning to hit a show at the nearby Steppenwolf Theatre, this is the place to visit for pre-show dinner and drinks.
If you're looking for a casual spot over on the west side of Chicago that has a roomy year-round patio, it's hard to match what Northside Bar + Grill has to offer, at least from a setting standpoint. The menu is cheap, the food is good, and the scotch and whiskey list is extensive. What else do you need?
From the relaxed, casual setting of Northside to one of Chicago’s swankiest rooftops, J. Parker has about as good of an atmosphere as you can ask for. The view of the lakefront are spectacular, and the upscale vibe is perfect for a fun night out on the town.
