For those of us who live in Chicago and get to experience it every day, we already know it’s among some of the best food cities in the world. From the dozens of deep dish pizza joints spread out all over town to some of the most highly touted fine dining restaurants known to man, saying that we take food seriously here in the Windy City would be a huge understatement.
Recently added to the already long list of accolades many local restaurants have received, we can now say that Chicago is also home to the best burger in the U.S., at least according to Food Network.
Earlier this month, the cable network cable giant ranked the Top 5 Burgers in America, and along with the Mission Bowling Club in San Francisco, Sid’s Diner in El Reno, Oklahoma, Pie ’n Burger in Pasadena, California, and Bridle Room in New York, our very own Au Cheval over in the West Loop not only made the cut, but aslo took home the top spot thanks to their mouth watering Double Cheeseburger, which actually uses three patties.
So, if you’ve yet to make the trip over to Au Cheval on Randolph Street, now you have yet another reason to pay them a visit, and this time, it’s coming from somebody other than your buddy, neighbor, or co-worker.
Oh, and if you do decide to stop by, be prepared for a bit of a wait, especially now that they hold the title for best burger in the country.
