Cubs Head To The World Series For First Time Since 1945!

Whether you’re a Cubs fan or not, there’s always something special about witnessing history, and that’s exactly what many of us got to see Saturday night when the team long-dubbed the “lovable losers” finally won the pennant and advanced to the World Series for the first time since 1945.

Early reports had over 300,000 people celebrating in the streets of Wrigleyville on Saturday night, and you can bet there will be even more Cubs fans making their way to the neighborhood next weekend as Wrigley Field will host as many as three World Series games on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights.

For most Cubs fans, it’s an accomplishment that’s hard to put into words—mainly because so many of us have never seen our local baseball heroes even reach the World Series, let alone win it—something that also hasn’t been done in a well-documented 108 years and counting. But from the beginning, this year has felt different. This team has felt different.

And while reaching the World Series and losing would certainly be gut-wrenching for so many Cubs fans just wanting to see our team win it all even just once, it’s been a fun and historic year that all of us won’t soon forget. And that’s something we can hang our hat on win or lose.
