It’s been a long time coming, but after years of planning, the country’s first Virgin Hotel is now finally open here in downtown Chicago. Situated at 203 N. Wabash in the Loop, Richard Branson and his team originally took over the old Dearborn Bank Building back in 2011 and have since been working to convert this historic structure into a boutique hotel since the spring of 2013.
In all, the new Virgin Hotel houses 250 rooms, two “rock star” suites, an underground spa, and a rooftop bar and lounge. There’s also a new restaurant inside the building called The Commons Club, which is being headed up by Chef Rick Gresh—the former Executive Chef at David Burke’s Chicago restaurants.
Inside, rooms here are of course comfortable and modern, but still offer a touch of charm through certain aspects of the design and furniture. Until now, details have been fairly hush-hush about the interiors and what the new Virgin Hotel will include, but now that it’s finally open and ready for business, here’s a look at some more interior photos that are the hotel's website:
