The historic neighborhood Old Town, home to some of the oldest and victorian-styled properties in Chicago, has seen new businesses entering the area as the population of the area grows. The newest addition, Orangetheory Fitness at 1513 N. Wells St. Chicago, brings a fresh take on exercise and provides a new gym for Old Town residents with no fitness room in their home.
Orangetheory Fitness’ goal is to extend your bodies workout beyond the 60-minute session. This is accomplished by raising the heartbeat to a target zone that raises metabolism and energy production. The goal is to have the body continue to metabolize and ‘work-out’ after the session has concluded; called Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption (EPOC). Orangetheory Fitness states that the post-oxygen consumption can last up to 36 hours after the workout—giving you more energy and better overall muscle toning.
With plenty of days left in Chicago’s summer and residents wanting to keep up their summer look through the winter; Orangetheory Fitness will be there to help keep the heartbeat of the city thumping.
