More news on Chicago’s booming hotel scene, and this time it relates to the new Hyatt Hotel that’s planned for the northwest corner of Clark and Monroe. News first broke about a possible hotel taking over the vintage, 22-story office tower located at 100 W. Monroe back in March 2013, and now, nearly two years later, it appears a Grand Opening is finally in sight and set for sometime in April.
Also just announced is that the new location will be the first to be branded with Hyatt’s new Hyatt Centric™ flag, which brands itself as a designer hotel that puts both business and leisure travelers in central locations of destination cities just like Chicago.
In this case, it can’t get much more central than Clark in Monroe, which puts guests of the new hotel just blocks from a number of federal buildings, City Hall, the financial district, and Chicago’s famed theater district.
In all, the new Hyatt Centric will house 257 rooms and include a rooftop bar with a signature French restaurant—an addition that’s sure to spice up this relatively stagnant part of the Loop in terms of dining and nightlife.
The second of the Hyatt’s first two Hyatt Centric branded hotels is also expected to make its debut in Miami.
