Hundreds of new rental units are headed to West Loop. It’s all part of a massive new development going up near Mary Bartelme Park in Chicago.

The new Porte development consists of two 17-story towers, complete with nearly 600 new residences. Ranging from around around 550 square feet for a studio unit to more than 1,500 square feet, the project serves up a variety of floor plans for renters to choose from.

There are also some two-level townhomes available for rent in Porte. The rental buildings also offer such amenities as a fitness center, demonstration kitchen, game room and a lounge.

In addition, the property makes room for a pool deck stretching between the two towers, a dog run and some co-working space. It’s expected the first residents of Porte could move in early this summer.

The site was previously home to a shampoo manufacturer. Along with Porte, development is also underway on several mixed-use projects, hotels and office towers in the neighborhood.
