Chicago is widely considered to be one of the most dog-friendly cities in the country. With over 20 individual off-leash dog parks in the town and dozens of high-rise condo buildings that not only allow dogs inside the building, but also feature a host of in-building amenities that specifically relate to pet owners, it's certainly hard to argue otherwise.
But if you're looking for a new condo or home for sale around the downtown area however, pet facilities are a bit more scarce and there aren't quite as many dog parks available to home owners on, say, the north and west sides of town. Grant Bark Park
Columbus Drive & 11th Street (South Loop)
Situated right on the edge of Chicago's Loop and South Loop, Grant Bark Park is a nice open area that offers more than enough space for Fido to stretch his legs out. It's tree-lined fence offers plenty of shade in the summertime, while the views of the downtown skyline are quite nice for dog owners to enjoy as well.

Lakeshore East Dog Park
450 E. Benton Place (New Eastside)
Although not one of the largest dog parks in Chicago, Lakeshore East Dog Park is probably among the most maintained. Lush landscaping and plenty of maturing trees dot the area inside the park, while amenities here include a dog fountain, artificial grass, and strong fencing surrounding the entire park.

Adams & Sangamon Dog Park
115 S. Sangamon (West Loop)
As one of downtown Chicago's newest dog parks, Adams & Sangamon Park has become one of the best neighborhood amenities for the growing number of West Loop residents to enjoy. Along with a playground, wide sidewalks, and a sprawling lawn area, Adams & Sangamon Park of course has a very nice fenced-in dog park that's complete with doggy drinking fountains, pet waste stations, and plenty of room to run!
