Dog-Friendly Bars and Restaurants
Spring is just around the corner and if there is one thing us Chicagoans want to do, it is be outside. After being cooped up all winter, I have made your search for the perfect pet-friendly outdoor restaurants and bars a little bit easier.

1. PB&J - 205 N Peoria St
PB&J got its name from all that it has to offer; pizza, beer, and a jukebox (or as it is currently known, TouchTunes). PB&J is located in the heart of West Loop and has a large outdoor space with plenty of tables to hold friends and canines alike. They have a full bar with a delicious espresso martini (if that is your thing) and the menu has something for everyone. Patio seating is currently available, so go grab a table as the weather warms up!

2. Maple & Ash - 8 W Maple St
Named one of the best Restaurants in Chicago, their patio/sidewalk seating is perfect for our furry friends. From handmade sushi rolls to grilled to perfection steaks, Maple & Ash has earned their reputation fair and square. My favorite time to go is during happy hour to get small plates and a glass of wine. When the weather is nice and the sun is shining, nothing compares.

3. Beatrix - 519 N Clark St
Coffee, cocktails, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Beatrix not only offers everything, but the quality is perfect. The bakery/coffee bar is always open for quick bites and at night turns into a full-service bar. Serving upscale California-inspired American cuisine, Beatrix is the perfect spot for any time of day. Their outdoor/sidewalk section looks out on Clark Street, which is closed off periodically for a River North “restaurant row” vibe.

4. Happy Camper - 1209 N Wells St
If you are looking for a fun bar with a cute aesthetic, Happy Camper is the place for you. From its famous Umbrella Cocktails to their thick crust pizza, Happy Camper leaves all of its guests, pets included, happy. Their large patio section is always packed and the fun easy vibe of the restaurant makes sitting and drinking after a pizza the standard.

5. Lizzie McNeill's Irish Pub - 400 N Mcclurg Ct
Being located right on the river, Lizzie’s is a fan favorite with pets and humans alike. Serving delicious pub food until midnight, as long as their outside seating is available, grab your dog and get outside! My favorite part is the “Chicago Classic” menu which of course has an unbelievable Italian beef and a Chicago-style dog that you cannot skip out on. Because the outdoor patio is right on the river, it's perfect for pets and people watching at any time of day.

6. Broken English - 75 E Lake St
You know we had to throw a Mexican Place on this list. Broken English is serving up tacos and margs that will have you wanting to go back for more. With a partitioned outdoor sidewalk seating area, your dogs are protected and you get a view of the hustle and bustle of Wacker Drive. The happy hour is too good to skip out on, so make sure you grab your pup and friends to get a table.

7. Ranalli’s Pizza - 1925 N Lincoln Ave
Probably the best pizza in Chicago, in my opinion, Ranalli’s in Lincoln Park is a dream. Their patio section is decently sized and is almost always packed with humans and dogs, making it almost impossible to get a table when it is nice out. Their garlic knots, hot soppressata and ricotta pizza, and chicken tenders are just a few of the must-haves on their menus. Sports games, reality TV nights, and everything in between, there is always something fun going on at Ranalli’s.
