Chicago boasts some impressive loft buildings, many of them situated on the city’s North Side. And if you're someone who happens to be in the market for a new loft somewhere in Lakeview, Lincoln Park, or even Roscoe Village, here are a few great spots to begin your search:

2600 N. Southport

Once a factory, the Amhurst Lofts invite new residents with such desirable features as exposed rafter ceilings, a common rooftop deck and underground parking. As well, some of the lofts of 2600 N Southport also provide wood-burning fireplaces.

Originally constructed in the 1920s, the building was converted over to lofts in the late 1980s, with three stories of options to choose from. With high ceilings and plenty of open space, the building offers room for dozens of loft homes in Lincoln Park.

Lofts at 1800

With stunning design principles, The Lofts at 1800 provide for newly delivered lofts, also in an old factory. The Lakeview address makes it easy to enjoy all of the extras, from a fitness center to a 24-hour doorman.

The building supplies one-bedroom and two-bedroom units plus duplexes, each in its own unique design. The luxury building also includes a rooftop deck, private storage and indoor, deeded parking.

1800 W. Roscoe

Also known as the Pencil Factory Lofts, the residences of 1800 W Roscoe are part of a conversion project of an old pencil factory. It’s common to find one-, two- and even three-bedroom floor plans within the building.

As well, residents enjoy the high ceilings and exposed brick and concrete, along with massive windows, allowing for plentiful natural light. Extra amenities of the building include a shared rooftop deck, heated parking garage and a carport for washing vehicles.

1101 W. Armitage

Lincoln Park also welcomes the various options of 1101 W Armitage. This loft building not only features a prime address but also such extras as a rooftop deck, extra storage and an attached parking garage.

Just steps away from some of the area’s best sites and attractions, the units of the building often include custom built-ins and desirable finishes. The boutique property additionally includes high ceilings, stained hardwoods and more.
