A high-profile penthouse in Streeterville has sold, according to reports from Crain’s Chicago Business. The seller, who is also the former president of E-Trade Securities, officially unloaded the 16th-floor unit at 270 E. Pearson last week for $4.3 million, or for $1.5 million more than it was purchased for back in 2008.Â
As noted in the report, the unit features 3,600 square feet across its two levels, and has three full bedrooms, three full bathrooms, and an 800 square foot balcony. Thanks to its location across the street from Lake Shore Park, the space also enjoys incredible views of Lake Michigan, and of course the park below which backs up to the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago.Â

Although Chicago’s River North neighborhood is already known for its plethora of steakhouses, it appears another one will be added to the already crowded line-up sometime next year. Wabash, which will be the small Phoenix-based chain’s third location in the U.S.
It seems like only yesterday that plans for the new residential expansion at Block 37 were announced, but here we are right at the peak of the summer season and Marquee at Block 37 has now made its official debut on the downtown apartment scene.
After quite a few rounds of changes and design modifications, it appears a final version of 111 S. Peoria is finally on its way to becoming a reality. Now being called Illume, 111 S. Peoria will stand 9 stories high and apparently house 95 individual condo residences, which is quite the contract to the original plan of standing 13 stories high and housing 215 apartment residences.
