Belgravia GroupHubbard Street Dance has sold its headquarters in the West Loop to developers that are planning to erect a 72 unit condominium complex on the site.

Belgravia Group and JRG Capital Partners have acquired the property at 1147 W. Jackson Blvd. The duo plan to start marketing the new condo project in February and aim to break ground later this fall. 
Over the past decade, the firm has built five projects in the West Loop under its CA brand, which feature spacious 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom units. Belgravia and JRG anticipate the condos, which will average around 2,150 sq. ft. to be priced around the mid $800,000's according to a recent press release.

With Amazon not choosing Chicago for its H2Q location, Sterling Bay has made some significant changes to its proposed Lincoln Yards megadevelopment in hopes of easing widespread concerns from the community regarding the mammoth size of the project. 

According to new reports from both Crain’s and the Tribune, the new Lincoln Yards proposal features fewer high-rises and a lot more open green space, which is something many throughout the surrounding community originally wanted when the project was first announced.  

Specifically, the new plan now has two fewer buildings and the max height for any tower in Lincoln Yards has been dropped from 70 stories and nearly 800 feet to right around 50 stories and 650 feet.

Chicago New Construction Real EstateA small, one-story currency exchange and surface parking lot at 777 N. LaSalle Drive in Chicago’s booming River North neighborhood could soon be replaced, according to a recent report from Curbed. 

The site was reportedly sold to a private developer for $4.2 million, and plans for a mixed-use project that includes retail space and private residences above are already in the works. 

As mentioned by Curbed, the property covers about 6,200 square feet and its location is tailor made for new development. The site already has a high density zoning designation of DX-7, and its location is right in the heart of River North and just blocks from the Mag Mile.

Chicago’s next skyline-altering project is set to break ground as early as January, accordion to a recent report.

Called One Chicago Square, the supertall skyscraper is planned for a surface parking lot across from the Holy Name Cathedral in River North and is being developed by Chicago-based JDL Development and Sterling Bay.

If you’re still unfamiliar with One Chicago Square, the sleek, two-tower design is projected to include 869 rental units, luxury condominium residences, office space, and retail space that will feature a new Whole Foods Market and a massive, 100,000 square foot Life Time Athletic club.

Lincoln Yards ChicagoBy now, chances are you’ve at least heard of the spectacular new master plan being called Lincoln Yards. Just recently, however, architects and developers unveiled impressive new rendering that provide a clearer image of what soon may occupy part of the North Branch riverfront.
